The inaugural World Hindu Congress (WHC) held in 2014 saw 1800 delegates from 53 countries, taking part in 7 parallel conferences to deliberate and formulate solutions to the myriad challenges faced by Hindus throughout the world.

One of those 7 conferences was the Hindu Education Conference conducted by the Hindu Education Board, which brought together educators, academics, administrators, governments, students, and other stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities in the field of education. The focus area of the conference was to understand the means for the goal of democratizing quality education and find solutions to three significant challenges facing our education system  – lack of quality, mismatch between what is being taught and the real needs of the country, and inability to provide education in a culturally rooted manner through our own languages.
